Fruit Snoot

I like the fruit snoot name better than expanded polyethylene mesh flash diffuser, so I came up with the name of Fruit snoot, although, it is a kind of “leaky” snoot.

You’ve seen these wraps on fruit, maybe with a set of wine glasses…

So, instead of filling the landfills with them, why not use them as a diffuser/snoot!

Since these are usually tapered, depending on which side you put over the flash, the amount of snoot varies.

Cheap, easy, and when it gets tattered, use a new one.

Wow, I even got an entry on Strobist for this little gadget!  Thanks Mr. Hobby!

Enjoy!

    Hi Joseph,
instead of your fruit snoot I use a bigger tea bag (of course without tea!) and fix it with a rubber band.
The results are quite similar to yours – a much softer light and no spotlights!
